The Christian Academy is situated on 4.10 acres located at 11050 N Warson Rd. near the intersection of Page and Lindbergh just minutes away from Hwy 170 to the East, Hwy 270 to the West, Hwy 70 to the North, and Hwy 40 to the South. It is centrally located and in close proximity to many local companies such as, Monsanto, Boeing, and Edward Jones. Whether you live or work in Florissant, Hazelwood, University City, St. Charles, or Creve Coeur, you will find the Christian Academy an easy commute each day.
The main 3-story building of the Christian Academy was constructed in the 1940s. Although the building has been around for more than 75 years, it has had many updates. While the updates have helped to bring modernization to the school, we have also retained the classic school building architecture. An addition to the school of a full size gymnasium was completed in 2002.
Stop by or make an appointment to tour our facilities. You will find we are continually making improvements and working to make your child's educational experience the best it can be in the best environment possible.
As you enter the building from the Kratky Road parking lot, you will find a welcoming entrance with signage directing you to the Main Office located on the second floor. The building has space for 20 classrooms, a library/computer lab, cafeteria/kitchen, a large multi-purpose room, 4 offices, 8 restrooms, a full-size gymnasium with locker rooms and showers, a concession stand, as well as a weight-lifting area in the mezzanine of the gym. Our facilities are air-conditioned during those warm springs, long hot summer days, and into early fall, as well as heated in the cold winter months.
Most of our classrooms are large with seating for 15 to 20 students. They are all area-conditioned, have tinted, energy-efficient windows, and are updated with wireless technology. The elementary classrooms also enjoy a computer area where students can utilize study sites over the internet or utilize learning software as part of the curriculum program. Several secondary faculty are also utilizing power point presentations and video technology as teaching aids during lecture and labs.
In our air-conditioned cafeteria, our students enjoy reasonably priced daily hot lunches with different type of meal choices, and ala cart items for purchase. Food Service Consultants, an outside vendor, prepares all our students' meals based on a "Healthy Habits" concept. The students also have access to microwaves for heating items brought from home. A monthly lunch calendar is available to access through both our public and internal websites. For convenient payment of lunches, you can send money daily with your child, or you can pay their lunch account in advance by putting money into it each month, week, or even for the year.
The Dickey Library carries many volumes of circulating and reference books and bound periodicals. All students have an opportunity to check out any of the books.
On November 5, 1994 the library was dedicated to honor Quincy C. Dickey for many loyal years of service to the Christian Academy's students, parents, faculty, and staff. "Honor to whom honor is due." Romans 13:7
Technology and Communications
With the 2017-2018 school year, all students in grades 6-12 will be using Chromebooks.
As technology rapidly grows and changes in our world today, we have updated our school's technology by installing wireless access throughout the building in order for our students to utilize the educational internet sites our teachers incorporate into our top-rated curriculum. The students also have access to the internet for research and to use educational tools that are free and readily available.
Each student is assigned a Christian Academy email account in order to access study notes, homework assignments that the teachers post into their Renweb pages, as well as send homework assignments to the teachers and post questions in order to receive clarification on assignments pending.
Our school secretary uses the internal website (www.cagsl.net) for students and their families to post important communications and forms that are needed throughout the school year. This is a great way for students, their families, and our supporters to stay in touch with what's happening by following the Christian Academy.
Hardly a day goes by when a student does not pass through this multi-functional area known as, the multi-purpose room or what used to be the "old gym”. The multi-purpose room was a small gymnasium area utilized by our PE classes, sports teams, and early childhood program. Today it has been converted to a multi-functional area where daily chapel is held, as well as, utilized for special events throughout the year.
The current gymnasium was completed in 2002 and provides space for many functions that take place at the Christian Academy … besides its numerous athletic activities.
The gymnasium is utilized for PE classes, sports open gyms, and large Christian Academy community events. The gym’s major service, though, is for athletics. The Christian Academy volleyball team has its regular season games and annual tournament on its resume, as does the Crusaders' basketball teams. Whether it’s practice, actual game time, or even symbolic representations of past victories, much of the action happens here.
The facilities also include a weight area, cheer practice area, locker rooms with showers, restrooms, and a concession stand. All areas in the gymnasium are air-conditioned.
Do you coach a sports club or run a league? Do you need space for practice, games, or summer camp? Perhaps you have a special event coming up and you want to find a place large enough for 200 guests. Consider renting the Christian Academy Gymnasium. Currently, we have rental space available. Contact the Christian Academy main office at 314/429-7070 ext. 3 for more details and a schedule of dates available to rent.
Outdoor Facilities and Parking
To the south of the gymnasium, you will find the soccer field where all of our home fall and spring soccer games are played. To the west and south of the school off Kratky Road is a large gated playground area where our Early Childhood and Elementary students enjoy recess, as well as, playtime during our aftercare hours.
For your convenience with drop off and pick up of your child, there are two parking lots; one with entrance and exits off Kratky Road and the other with entrance and exits off of Warson Road. If you are doing more than just dropping off your child, our two parking lots offer over 65 parking spaces making it convenient to stop by to have lunch with your child, meet with a teacher, or attend a chorus concert or sporting event. There are many activities that take place at our school on a weekly basis.
